I must also acknowledge the much appreciated help that I have received from my family with the creation of this family tree. In particular, I wish to thank my cousin, Janice and her husband Willie for their help. Janice has made many field trips to the Monticello library and to Wayne county cemeteries while researching our family history. Practically all of the photos included with this family tree came from Janice's and my Aunt Betty's family collections.I wish to also thank Willie for his assistance in the uploading process of these photos. I particularly want to thank my Aunt Betty Caylor for the many stories from the memoirs of my Uncle Howard and Aunt Betty. I must also acknowledge the help that I received on the Boone side of my family from a cousin that I never knew existed, Bronston Boone. The information that I received from Bronston is invaluable. Thanks to all.

In addition, I wish to thank Betty Lowe Hatter, a relative from the Thornton side of the family, for her contribution of several photos on this website and also thanks to Joyce Bergen, a great granddaughter of Dyance Alexander for her contribution of a photo.

EPILOGUE

This Caylor family record was originally created as a website on the Internet World Wide Web. It was later reduced to printed form and electronically placed on CD. All Caylor family members were offered copies of the printed form and a CD. Hopefully, if you are reading this many years after the year 2008, then you are the audience that it was intended for. Typically, as people grow through their life spans, most of their younger years are involved with the issues of raising their own family and a curiosity about their heritage is just a remote thought. But, with the passage of time, this curiosity becomes stronger. Occasionally this strengthening curiosity causes an active search for answers to questions to occur. Too often, however, reliable sources for the answers to the questions are no longer available due to the death of the eldest family members. This circumstance sometimes will cause the researcher to look to other less reliable sources of information. This usually involves long hours in one or more libraries poring over books of local history germane to the family and researching amongst the multitude of government records. This can be a daunting task with obstacles galore. For this reason, this record of the Caylors of Wayne County, Kentucky was created-to assist future Caylor family genealogy researchers by answering some of the questions here.
